Russians attack Kyiv region with drones: three people killed

Three people died as a result of a Russian UAV attack on Kyiv region on the night of 24 January.

This was reported by the acting head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk.

«The deceased was found on fire in a private house as a result of the fall of debris from the downed target. The fire has now been extinguished. The second victim was a 36-year-old man in another locality, where a 10-storey residential building was damaged», he said.

Later, the police reported three deaths in the Kyiv region. Also, at the site where the high-rise building was damaged, two people sought medical attention after the fire. A 26-year-old man suffered superficial burns of the upper respiratory tract. A 38-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction.

Mykola Kalashnyk added that the lists of victims of the attack are being updated and they are being provided with all the necessary medical care.

«The fire has been extinguished. A resilience centre for residents is currently operating near the damaged high-rise building in the school. A tent with water and hot drinks has also been set up at the site», he said.

In the morning, the State Emergency Service clarified that a 10-storey building in Fastiv district was damaged by UAV debris, with a fire raging and damage on the 6th and 7th floors.

Rescuers evacuated 150 residents. They rescued an injured man from the 6th floor and a trapped woman from the 9th floor, and found a dead man born in 1988.

In Brovary, a residential building was destroyed by the wreckage of a UAV. A fire also broke out there, and was extinguished at 04:14 am over an area of 120 square metres.

«The body of a dead man born in 1966 was found, and the search for his wife born in 1965 is ongoing», the SES said.

As a reminder, on 18 January, Russian troops also attacked Kyiv. Four people were killed and three others injured as a result of ballistic missile attacks.
