Sweden will allocate SEK 1.5 billion (over $150 million) for new military capabilities for Ukraine. In particular, it will include barrels for Archer self-propelled artillery systems and other equipment.
This was announced by Swedish Defence Minister Paul Johnson on the social network X.
«The government has decided to allocate SEK 1.5 billion from support packages 18 and 19 for new military capabilities for Ukraine. This includes more than 10 new Archer artillery guns, long-range and underwater assets, as well as more logistical support», said Paul Johnson.
According to him, the Archer system has proved to be very effective in Ukraine and now requires new artillery barrels.
«Volvo and Scania trucks will also be purchased, as well as a new container system for faster and safer unloading of defence equipment», the Defence Minister added.
As a reminder, Sweden will help Ukraine with access to clean water and provide about 40 modern water treatment systems. Kherson region will be the first region to launch this project.
