Erdogan: Ankara is ready to receive Putin and Zelenskyy when they are ready

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Ankara is ready to host the leaders of Ukraine and Russia for direct talks as soon as they are ready for it.

This was reported by the «Anadolu Agency».

He stressed «the historic opportunity» to start negotiations, expressing support for both the technical level of dialogue and meetings at the level of state leaders.

«The head of state expressed Turkey's readiness to receive the leaders of the two countries when they are ready», the statement said.

Erdogan also said that the priority should be to achieve basic principles to stop the fighting to prevent further civilian casualties.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed security guarantees in the Black Sea.
