The average salary in the Mykolaiv region is almost ₴26,000, but debt has risen by 30%

In the Mykolaiv region, the average wage in April this year stood at almost 26,000 hryvnias, whilst wage arrears in the region have risen once again.

This is according to data from the regional statistics office, as reported by ‘NikVesti’.

According to statisticians, the average wage in April fell by 6.8% compared to March. Despite this, the region ranks ninth among Ukraine’s regions in terms of wage levels.

At the same time, wage arrears as of 1 May this year reached 60 million hryvnias. This is 30.5% more than a month earlier. Mykolaiv Oblast accounts for 1.6% of the country’s total wage arrears.

The highest wages in the region are recorded in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning — almost 50,000 hryvnias. The lowest incomes are earned by workers in the arts, sports and leisure sectors — just over 12,000 hryvnias.

The bulk of the debt is in the industrial and agricultural sectors. The manufacturing industry accounts for over half of the total debt — almost 51%. Agriculture, forestry and fisheries account for almost 38%, with a further 11% coming from the water supply and waste management sectors.

It should be noted that in February, the average wage in the Mykolaiv region was almost 25,000 hryvnias.
