The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 1.5 billion hryvnias to improve the living conditions of internally displaced persons. Part of the funds will be spent on renovating temporary housing and purchasing houses for displaced persons.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.
According to her, one billion hryvnias will go towards the repair and refurbishment of temporary accommodation. At the same time, at least 20% of the renovated premises must be adapted for people with disabilities and low-mobility groups.
The government plans to allocate another 500 million hryvnias for the purchase of houses in rural areas for displaced persons. The Cabinet of Ministers must approve the procedure for implementing this programme within a month after the resolution comes into force.
«The subsidy will also be used to purchase building materials and modular houses to create modular towns in frontline regions,» the Prime Minister noted.
According to Svyrydenko, in frontline regions, such projects will be financed entirely from the state budget. In other regions, a co-financing system will be in place: 90% of the funds will be provided by the state and 10% by local budgets.
We would like to remind you that in Mykolaiv, the executive committee plans to transfer the functions of distributing housing for IDPs. Currently, such housing funds and their distribution are approved by a session decision.
