Since the start of the full-scale war, 1,170 enterprises have left or changed their registration in the Mykolaiv region.

This was announced by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, during the telethon Unified News.

As is known, in 2025, 940 enterprises changed their registration to the Mykolaiv region from other regions.

«Unfortunately, the balance remains negative: since the start of the full-scale invasion, 1,170 enterprises have left or changed their registration from Mykolaiv. At the same time, we have managed to attract 940 new enterprises that have moved to Mykolaiv or opened here. This is a constant movement,» said Vitalii Kim.

Overall, according to him, entrepreneurial activity in the region has increased.

«There has also been a slight increase in revenue. In 2025, a total of 11,000 new jobs were created. Thanks to state support and assistance from international partners, there are various programmes in the region that are of interest to businesses. As a result, business activity in the region has increased. I urge you to continue supporting the Mykolaiv region, in particular through the payment of taxes,» said Vitalii Kim.

In January 2026, tax authorities in Mykolaiv conducted 79 business audits. An additional 91.2 million hryvnias were added to the budget. According to the regional office of the State Tax Service, 67 million hryvnias were agreed upon based on the reports for the current and previous years, but only 5.3 million hryvnias were actually paid. During the inspections, the VAT amounts that companies claimed for reimbursement from the budget were also reduced, and the tax credit was adjusted by 1.6 million hryvnias.

We would like to add that as of July 2024, 680 enterprises had moved from the Mykolaiv region to safer regions. Another 800 were destroyed, damaged or completely ceased operations.

More than 75,000 people have left Mykolaiv in three years: what is known

The population of Mykolaiv has decreased by more than 75,000 people in three years. While in February 2022, about 469,000 people lived in the city, as of the beginning of 2025, only 394,300 people were registered in the community registry. Thus, in three years, the city has lost more than 75,000 people. This is evidenced by data from the city council's economic development department in the community's budget forecast for 2026–2028.

At the same time, the number of officially registered unemployed in the city in 2026 is forecast to be 804 people, and in 2028 — 756. Mykolaiv also remains a city that accepts internally displaced persons. While there were 63,600 such persons at the beginning of 2025, more than 73,000 are expected in 2028.
