President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron have signed a declaration of intent in France to strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities.
This was reported by BFMTV and Le Monde, citing the Elysee Palace, «European Truth» reports.
The document envisages the possible purchase of up to 100 French Rafale fighter jets, as well as French-made air defence and unmanned systems.
Shortly after the signing of the declaration, the details of the agreement were revealed at the Elysee Palace at an air base near Paris.
According to the document, Ukraine can purchase up to 100 Rafale fighter jets with weapons, as well as modern air defence equipment, including new generation SAMP-T systems, radar systems and French-made unmanned systems.
As a reminder, the state budget of Ukraine received 5.9 billion euros from the European Union. The funds were allocated under the ERA Loans initiative and the Ukraine Facility.
It should be noted that Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that the European Union should stop «sending money from European citizens to Ukraine» in light of the latest corruption scandal in the energy sector.
