Residents of Central District of Mykolaiv receive over ₴10 million in compensation for damaged housing

In 2025, residents of the Central District of Mykolaiv whose homes were damaged as a result of the war received more than 10 million hryvnias in compensation for the restoration of their homes.
This was announced by the head of the administration of the Central District of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Bereza, according to NikVesti.
According to him, 891 objects were inspected during the year — apartments, private houses and non-residential premises.
«After missile strike, we make a round, record the damage, collect contact details and explain what documents need to be prepared, where to apply and how the reimbursement procedure itself proceeds. During this period, we held 84 meetings of the commission on compensation for the restoration of damaged housing. 172 applications totalling 10 million 9 thousand 131 hryvnias were approved. These funds will be used to restore the damaged properties,» said Bereza.
He added that the administration also verifies the use of funds. During the reporting period, 252 inspections were carried out.
«In addition, the administration staff performs the verification function. This is a check on the use of funds that were allocated to restore damaged housing. We had 252 such inspections during the reporting period,» Bereza added.
In Mykolaiv, most of the damaged apartment buildings will be restored in the Central district: what is known
As a reminder, 54 apartment buildings damaged by Russian shelling will be restored in Mykolaiv as part of the grant project «HOPE». By the end of 2025, it is planned to develop projects to rebuild these buildings.
This number of apartment buildings was distributed by city district as follows:
- Central district — 22 apartment buildings;
- Zavodskyi district — 13 apartment buildings;
- Inhulskyi district — 12 apartment buildings;
- Korabelnyi district — 7 apartment buildings.
What is the status of the reconstruction of buildings in Mykolaiv?
In 2024, 45 million hryvnias is planned to be spent from the Mykolaiv budget to restore damaged or destroyed apartment buildings, while in 2023, 40 million hryvnias was allocated for this purpose.
The first multi-storey building in Mykolaiv damaged by shelling was repaired at the expense of the city budget in July 2023. It was a building on Krylova Street that was hit by a Russian missile in the summer of 2022.
At the end of the year, the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Mykolaiv City Council reported that in 2023, four residential apartment buildings that had been damaged by shelling by Russian troops had been overhauled.
After that, the Department of Housing and Communal Services announced a tender for the restoration of a five-storey building in the centre of Mykolaiv, which was destroyed by a Russian missile in autumn 2022. Subsequently, NikVesti showed how the process of its restoration is going.
And in April 2024, the Department of Housing and Communal Services announced another tender for the overhaul of a high-rise building at 132 Kosmonavtiv Street in Mykolaiv. Three other buildings awaiting reconstruction are those at 2 Aliaudu, 61 Raiduzhna and 142B Kosmonavtiv Streets.
At the same time, the city council supported the allocation of funds from the Mykolaiv budget for technical inspections of private houses affected by the war.
