Canada will transfer $10 million ahead of schedule to repair Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure. The funds are part of the country's total contribution of $70 million to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine.

The statement noted that the early payment will help Ukraine restore energy facilities damaged by Russian strikes.

According to Anand, the Energy Community Secretariat has already allocated about $50 million of Canada's contribution to Kharkiv region for the purchase and delivery of gas compressors before the winter season.

«As winter approaches and Russia once again targets critical civilian infrastructure, the need for energy support is urgent. In response, Canada is accelerating assistance to help restore Ukraine's energy system and support Ukrainians in the difficult months ahead», the minister said.
