According to Ivan Liptuha, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Culture and Marketing of the Odesa City Council, this is 25% more than in 2024.
«Despite all the difficult circumstances of the war, tourists still come to Odesa in summer. According to the initial analytics and statistics, the number of tourists and revenues from tourist tax and other taxes increased by 25 to 40% compared to last year,» said Ivan Liptuha.
During the high season (July-August), 22 beaches opened by the military administration, including two inclusive beaches, were open in the city.
The head of the department added that 4-5-star hotels recorded an increase in demand, and the average bill for accommodation grew by 30%. At the same time, about 90% of tourists are domestic visitors from different regions of Ukraine.
According to him, the average tourist receipt in the high-end segment grew by 25%, while the average receipt in the low-end segment increased by 35-40%.
He noted that in 2024, about four million people visited Odesa, of which approximately 350,000 were foreigners (mainly citizens of neighbouring countries, journalists, representatives of humanitarian missions and business visitors).
«There are tourists, Odesa remains the only alternative to holidays on the coast,» the official said.
According to him, the city authorities continue to work on diversification so that Odesa attracts tourists not only in summer but throughout the year.
Earlier it was reported that in the first half of 2025, Mykolaiv received only 810 thousand hryvnias in tourist tax.
