For the first time, grain from Moldova arrived at the port of Chornomorsk in Odesa region via a new railway route. The 4,500-tonne consignment will continue to its destination by sea.

According to «Ukrzaliznytsia», the launch of this service was the result of cooperation between Ukrainian and Moldovan railways.

«The launch of this route is the result of the coordinated work of the Ukrainian and Moldovan railways. It opens up new logistical opportunities, maintains the stability of agricultural exports even in difficult times and strengthens the partnership between the countries», the statement said.

The company added that Ukrainian ports now have another channel for receiving cargo from abroad, which will increase traffic volumes.

«Ukrzaliznytsia continues to seek and implement new transport solutions to remain a reliable bridge between producers, ports and world markets," the company said.

Earlier it was reported that Qatar's QTerminals was renewing the concession of the specialised seaport «Olvia» in Mykolaiv.
