The Ukrainian media sustainability program is an annual project aimed at supporting regional media in Ukraine, particularly in the South, East and North of the country. The project is implemented by IRMI in partnership with Fondation Hirondelle (Switzerland) with the financial support of Swiss Solidarity. Its goal is to improve access to quality information through multi-level support for newsrooms, including training, mentoring and advisory assistance, as well as mini-grants for institutional development.
The program provides training on such topics as working in war conditions, mobile journalism, war crimes investigation, media management, studying audiences and strengthening communication with them. Participants will also have the opportunity to prepare for international media certification according to the standards of the Journalism Trust Initiative.
18 media that are motivated to develop and meet the selection criteria will be selected to participate in the competition. Priority is given to publications that need comprehensive support and do not have other significant institutional funding.
The project is implemented by Fondation Hirondelle (Switzerland) and the Institute of Regional Press and Information (IRMI Ukraine, Kharkiv).
