During shelling in wartime, it is crucial to follow safety rules and react quickly to alarm signals. The best protection is staying in specially equipped shelters. You can find the nearest shelter in Mykolaiv using the shelter map, which lists the locations of protective structures in your area.

If no shelter is nearby, you can use the "two walls" rule, which helps minimize the risk of injury:

  • Choose a spot in your home that is far from exterior walls, windows, and doors.
  • Find a space protected by two solid walls between you and the outside. This could be, for example, a hallway or bathroom.
  • Make sure that the area has no large glass surfaces that might shatter from a blast wave.

Recommendations during an alarm:

  1. Immediately head to the nearest shelter or use the "two walls" rule.
  2. Close windows and turn off all electrical appliances.
  3. Bring documents, water, a first aid kit, and personal protective equipment.
  4. Alert your neighbors, especially the elderly and those who might not hear the alarm.
  5. Stay calm and wait for further instructions from the relevant authorities.
