Olha Hennadiivna Kharlan (born September 4, 1990, Mykolaiv) is a Ukrainian sabre fencer, two-time Olympic champion (2008, 2024), six-time world champion, and eight-time European champion. She is one of Ukraine's most decorated athletes, renowned for her skill and achievements on the international stage. Kharlan was born and began her athletic journey in Mykolaiv, a city with a rich fencing tradition, and she has often spoken of the support she received from her hometown. In 2024, Kharlan won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, becoming the first Ukrainian athlete to earn medals at four different Olympic Games. Beyond her sporting accomplishments, Olha is actively involved in charity work and supports young athletes, particularly in Mykolaiv, where she frequently participates in events for young fencers.
