Five underground schools will be built in the city of Zaporizhzhia and in the Zaporizhzhia district.

This was announced by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

He said that the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine approved the first projects.

Three schools are planned to be built in the city of Zaporizhzhia and two more in the Zaporizhzhia district of the region. The first construction tenders will be announced this week.

It is assumed that underground schools will become an educational platform for children of several districts of the regional center and several settlements of the region.

«Our goal is to provide an opportunity for all children who want to return to offline learning. In total, there will be 10 underground schools in the future,» added the head of the RMA.

It should be noted that underground schools are also proposed to be built in Mykolaiv. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vynnytskyi noted that educational institutions in front-line cities, in particular Mykolaiv, need to be transferred to offline education in order not to lose students.

It was also reported that an underground school for 500 students will be built in Kherson. Project and estimate documentation is currently being developed.
