Ukraine is increasing the pace of mobilization, conscripting up to 30,000 people into the ranks of the Defense Forces every month.

This is stated in the material of The New York Times.

«Ukrainian authorities refused to provide data on the draft, citing the confidentiality of information. Three military experts who know these numbers said that since May, when the new law on mobilization came into force, Kyiv has been calling up up to 30,000 people a month,» the publication writes.

According to the interlocutors, this is twice or three times more than during the last winter months, and about the same as the Russian army calls up every month. It is noted that it was not possible to independently confirm this figure.

The publication's sources note that the mobilization has not yet led to a significant strengthening of Ukrainian forces on the battlefield.

Many conscripts are still completing the training process and have not yet arrived at the front. And some new recruits who arrived are physically unfit for combat, members of the Ukrainian units note. Meanwhile, several brigades deployed on the battlefield have reported an increase in the number of recruits they have received in recent weeks.

We will remind you that on July 23, the Committee on National Security of the Verkhovna Rada approved draft laws on extending the period of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine for another 90 days.

Earlier, the Secretary of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Roman Kostenko, reported that 3,800 prisoners had already been mobilized into the Armed Forces.

The Ukrainian authorities are also conducting a certain dialogue with Moldova regarding the return of Ukrainian citizens of military age who have gone abroad.
