On the night of June 20, the Russian occupiers attacked the DTEK thermal power plant for the seventh time in the last three months. Three people were injured.

As stated in the message of DTEK.

«Another difficult night for the Ukrainian energy industry. The Russians fired at one of the thermal power plants of DTEK. Three of our colleagues were injured. Doctors are providing all possible help,» the company said.

At the same time, the station's equipment was seriously damaged, they added. Power engineers are currently working on eliminating the consequences of the attack.

«This is the seventh mass attack on the company's thermal power plant in the last three months,» DTEK added.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the DTEK thermal power plant has been fired upon more than 180 times. During this time, 53 workers were wounded by shelling at the stations, three energy workers were killed.

Before that, it was reported that if Russia continues to attack Ukrainian power plants, then in the worst case, when winter comes, Ukrainians may spend up to 20 hours a day without electricity and heating.

We will remind, the head of Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim said in a comment to NikVesti that according to the new model of «Ukrenergo» for the distribution of electricity between regions, the regions will be de-energized according to queues, and not according to limits. However, the Mykolaiv region cannot avoid long-term blackouts, because it is located in the same energy system.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the Ministry of Energy and «Ukrenergo» should develop a resolution that would regulate «fair schedules of turning off the lights for consumers.»

The government explained that the outages will last until August-September. And in winter, a deficit in the energy system is predicted even at high temperatures.
