Zaporizhzhia City Hall has put up for auction the largest monument to Volodymyr Lenin in Ukraine. The proceeds from the sale will be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was stated by acting mayor of the city, Regina Kharchenko.

The ad on Prozorro states that a bronze sculpture of Vladimir Lenin, bronze sculptures of a steelworker, a collective farm woman, an electrician, a construction engineer, uppercase and lowercase letters are for sale. The weight of the sculpture of Vladimir Lenin is more than 12 tons, and its height is 23 meters.

The starting price for the monument is 10.4 million hryvnias.

«We are converting the mission of the former «theoretician of Marxism» into resources to help our defenders, who are currently defending us from the followers of the Soviet regime,» Rehina Kharchenko wrote.

It should be noted that the bronze monument to Vladimir Lenin in Zaporizhzhia was dismantled in March 2016. On June 6, 2024, deputies of the Zaporizhzhia City Council adopted a draft decision to sell the monument through an auction.
