In Mariupol, temporarily occupied by Russia, there is a serious threat of a cholera outbreak due to water quality problems.

This was reported by the press service of the Mariupol City Council.

It is indicated that experts analyzed reservoirs, rivers and sea water within Mariupol and found cholera-like vibrio.

Therefore, the Kalmius River in the area of the village of Sadky, the Kalchyk River in the area of the tube dispensary, as well as the sea beach in the area of the ship repair plant are at risk.

«It is dangerous to swim in these places. We will remind that earlier the occupiers banned swimming in the Sea of Azov. Despite this, they continue to pollute the water with sewage and garbage,» added the city council.

It was previously reported that power outages and water disruptions could lead to outbreaks of infectious diseases, including viral hepatitis A, gastroenterocolitis and possibly cholera.
