The city service for children records an increase in the number of cases of physical violence against children in the Mykolaiv region.

The head of the service, Yuliia Kravchenko, told about this on the air of TRC «MART».

According to Yuliia Kravchenko, last year the children's service registered 76 cases of child abuse in Mykolaiv. However, during the first three months of the current year, 42 cases have already been recorded.

«Our statistics are growing rapidly. If it goes like this, by the end of the year we will have an increase of almost three times,» said Yuliia Kravchenko.

She added that if parents who commit physical violence against children believe that their model of upbringing will not change, the protection service workers will be forced to remove the child.

«We give a chance, we work with the child and the family, but if the family does not want to communicate with a psychologist or sets some conditions, if the work has been carried out, but it has not yielded results, a criminal pre-trial investigation will already be conducted. We are filing a lawsuit for deprivation of paternity,» Yuliia Kravchenko added.

Earlier it was reported that a portal was launched in Ukraine where you can report sexual violence against children.

We will also remind that almost two thousand children of the Mykolaiv Oblast are currently registered with the Children's Service.
