Air Force: Ukraine needs at least 25 Patriot systems to protect cities from enemy attacks

Ukraine needs at least 25 Patriot air defense systems to protect cities from combined attacks by Russian forces.

This was announced by the spokesman of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Illia Yevlash, at a briefing in the Ukraine-Ukrinform media center.

«Of course, we need many other means that could also cover the airspace and directly on the contact line, where our infantrymen hold the defense,» he added.

In particular, he noted the need for portable anti-aircraft missile systems that are used directly by mobile fire groups.

«Of course, this is a non-exhaustive list. We also need portable anti-aircraft missile complexes that are effectively used by mobile fire groups. We have already seen how guided and cruise missiles can be shot down with the help of skillful use of MANPADS by our servicemen of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,» he said.

We would like to remind you that on the night of April 11, air defense forces and means eliminated eight Shahed 131/136 UAVs over the territory of the Mykolaiv region. In total, 21 drones were destroyed in the south during combat operations of the air defense forces: 7 — in Odesa region, 8 — in Mykolaiv region, 3 each — in Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

In general, on the night of April 11, the Russian army attacked energy infrastructure in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, and Kyiv regions.

The Russian army also attacked two underground gas storage facilities in Ukraine.

In addition, the troops of the Russian Federation completely destroyed the Trypilska TPP in the Kyiv region.
