Children from Mykolaiv who require special social care and support will be sent on a holiday and health retreat. The children will go to camps in the west of the country for 14 days.

This is according to data from the ProZorro public procurement system, NikVesti reports.

The Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council held two tenders and selected the holiday organisers. The total cost is 16.4 million hryvnias.

The first tender was announced at the end of April. A contract worth 4.2 million hryvnias was signed with Sanatorium «Karpatski Zori» LLC in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The holiday is intended for 200 children for a 14-day stay.

Another tender worth 12.1 million hryvnias was won by Agrotasgroup LLC. The winner is to organise a holiday in Zakarpattia region for 568 children for a two-week session.

The tender winners must ensure the full organisation of a safe and high-quality holiday for children at a specialised facility that meets state requirements and has the necessary certification and registration. This includes appropriate accommodation, meals and leisure activities, round-the-clock medical care, insurance for the children, and organised transport to and from the holiday destination with an escort.

Meanwhile, last week the Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council approved rules under which, in 2026, children from disadvantaged groups will be able to enjoy a free holiday at children’s camps funded by the city budget.

The document specifies who exactly is entitled to such a holiday: orphans, children without parental care, children of combatants, soldiers who have died or gone missing in action, internally displaced children, children with disabilities, children from large and low-income families, as well as other children in need of state support.

Separately, provision is made for talented children — winners of competitions, academic contests and tournaments — to go on holiday.

Children aged between 7 and 18 will be accepted into the children’s camps. It is important to note that children will not be admitted to the camp without a medical certificate.

The executive committee’s decision also stipulates that district administrations, as well as the departments of education, health, physical culture and sport, culture, and the department of labour and social protection, must submit written reports to the Children’s Services within their respective remits: regarding preparations for the health campaign by 25 May, and on its results — by 25 September 2026.

It should be noted that last year, over 16 million hryvnias from the Mykolaiv budget were spent on organising holidays for children from disadvantaged groups.

It was also reported that 10 children from Mykolaiv will travel to France for a summer holiday. The children will receive health treatment under a cooperation project between the municipalities of Mykolaiv and Montpellier.

In addition, it was reported that this year, the city budget in Mykolaiv will be able to cover the cost of sanatorium and resort treatment for 5–10 war veterans. At the executive committee meeting on 13 May, the procedure for reimbursing the cost of such trips was approved.
