Several regions including Mykolaiv have presented «energy sustainability plans»

The regions of Ukraine presented Energy Sustainability Plans, which cover measures to protect critical infrastructure and ensure alternative and decentralised energy supplies.

This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba.

Each region has worked on four key areas: protecting critical infrastructure, developing distributed generation, alternative power supplies, and decentralising heat supply.

«The main focus is on electricity, water and heat supply facilities,» said Oleksii Kuleba.

He added that the regions had prepared specific calculations, identified a list of facilities, their technical parameters and the cost of measures, which will form the basis for budget decisions and donor requests.

«The plans are currently being finalised, taking into account comments and clarifying the financial component. The next step is their approval and practical implementation,» emphasised the Deputy Prime Minister.

According to him, several weeks ago, the frontline and central regions began their work, and today the Mykolaiv, Kherson, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Volyn, Ternopil, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions presented their findings.

As a reminder, on 23 February, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 246.4 million hryvnias to support the emergency repair crews who restored the energy infrastructure in January after Russian strikes.

Earlier, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko reported that in January, nearly 12,500 energy workers were involved in eliminating the consequences of the shelling. According to her, workers will also be entitled to a bonus of 20,000 hryvnias in February and March.
