In January, Mykolaiv residents sent almost 800 requests to the city's Call Centre 1588. Most often, residents complained about problems with trees, in particular, falling branches and trees during icy conditions.
This was reported on 2 February during a staff meeting at the Mykolaiv City Council by Olena Bulavka, head of the Call Centre 1588's citizen request processing department, according to NikVesti.
According to her, more than 3,500 complaints are currently being processed, and a significant portion of them concern trees. Due to icy conditions, there have been reports of falling branches and trees covered with ice in the city.
«From 12 January to 2 February, 792 appeals were received, of which 628 have already been processed. As of today, 3,625 requests are being processed. The municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks has completed 100 additional jobs during this period. Between 30 January and 1 February, 16 requests were received regarding falling branches and trees covered with ice,» said Olena Bulavka.
During the meeting, Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych asked whether the number of completed requests exceeded the number of new ones.
«Is the number of requests being fulfilled greater or less than the number of new ones?» asked the mayor.
«Less. Currently, there is a certain backlog of reports, and not all requests can be processed in time. This is due to the fact that most reports concern the removal of trees, and the environmental inspectorate does not always grant permission for such work. In addition, residents often do not accept the refusal to cut down trees and continue to insist, which also delays the process,» explained the call centre manager.
Oleksandr Sienkevych instructed the municipal enterprise to prepare a detailed analysis of the requests concerning trees.
«I request that the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks prepare an analysis of the requests for the next staff meeting: what exactly are these requests, are they duplicates, how many trees have been felled, what is the average number of such requests, and what trees are involved,» the mayor concluded.
It should be noted that in January, as a result of bad weather, dangerous trees fell on a parked car in Mykolaiv.
We would like to remind you that in 2025, Mykolaiv residents contacted the city's «Call Centre 1588» more than 7,500 times.
