By the end of 2026, Domanivka will receive a new water pipeline with the support of Denmark and NEFCO. Photo: NikVestiBy the end of 2026, a new water pipeline will be built in Domanivka, Mykolaiv region, as part of a partnership with the Kingdom of Denmark and the international corporation NEFCO.
This is reported in the NikVesti article: «Domanivka. How a waterless region in Mykolaiv Oblast is turning into an energy-independent «Little Copenhagen».
The project will be implemented in two stages, with the first stage of construction costing €1.5 million. Of this amount, €1.47 million was allocated in July 2025 at the Reconstruction Conference (URC) in Rome, and another €200,000 will be co-financed from the budget of the Domanivka community.
The essence of the project is to build a transit water pipeline almost 7 kilometres long from the village of Zbrozhkove to Domanivka. The water source will be an underground lake in Zbrozhkove, whose resources are capable of meeting the needs of the village even if the population doubles.
«The water will meet drinking quality standards even without additional purification. The well's resources will not only provide for the community, but also enable the development of production. One of the next stages also includes the installation of a reverse osmosis station,» says village head Viktor Vlasiuk.
The technical details include the laying of a 250-millimetre pipeline, the construction of two modern underground reservoirs and a pumping station with an automatic loss control system. To keep the water tariff at 40 hryvnias per cubic metre, solar panels will be installed at the facilities, which will reduce electricity costs.
The active phase of work will begin in April 2026 after the completion of tender procedures. The total duration of the first phase is limited to the end of 2026. The next stage is planned to be a complete modernisation of the internal pipe layout in the village at a cost of about 2 million euros and the development of industrial bottling of drinking water.
