In the Mykolaiv region, the amount of electricity in the grid may increase in the near future thanks to cogeneration.

This was announced by Vitalii Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, on the air of «Ranok.LIVE».

According to him, in cooperation with the government, a number of issues have been resolved that will allow for an increase in local electricity production.

«We are currently increasing the amount of electricity and cogeneration thanks to the government and Yuliia Svyrydenko. We have resolved two issues there that could now lead to an increase in electricity locally. These are logical issues, not administrative ones: we will simply increase the amount of electricity we feed into the grid,» he explained.

The head of the RMA added that there are currently no problems with centralised heating in Mykolaiv. The only exceptions are houses with electric heating and some rooftop boiler rooms without generators. In general, heat is supplied steadily throughout the city.

«People are now in the 4.5 queue, which means that approximately 77% are disconnected and 23% have electricity,» explained Vitalii Kim.

He clarified that emergency repairs by Ukrenergo are being carried out on top of the hourly power cut schedules in the region, which is why electricity is being supplied in very limited quantities. If the emergency power cuts are cancelled, the city's residents will be able to receive a stable supply of electricity for about 5.5 hours a day.

Earlier, Vitalii Kim reported that emergency power cuts are currently necessary due to repairs to substations. He also clarified that the power supply situation should improve after the launch of solar power generation.
