Mykolaiv Capital Construction Department: ₴10.3 million is needed to repair the roof of Gymnasium №10 — work is already underway

The repair of the roof of Mykolaiv Gymnasium №10, which was destroyed by a blast wave, will cost 10.3 million hryvnias. Last year, 2 million hryvnias were spent on this work.

This was announced by Oleksii Savchuk, head of the Capital Construction Department of the City Council, during a briefing on 22 January, according to NikVesti.

«This gymnasium was damaged as a result of armed aggression. Donor organisations worked there, repairing the interior and, if I am not mistaken, the simplest shelter. However, the roof was not repaired, so the department developed a project in 2025. The cost of replacing the roof is 10.3 million hryvnias. As of December 2025, the work actually completed amounts to almost 2 million hryvnias: the roofing material on one of the buildings was replaced,» said Oleksii Savchuk.

He added that work on restoring the roof of the educational institution will continue.

«The weather conditions made it possible to do all this — even in December, this work was carried out. Therefore, we plan to continue the work: we will need to cover the second part of the building, make a membrane roof directly over the sports hall, and also carry out insulation work,» said Oleksii Savchuk.

As a reminder, the Danish government is financing the construction of a new anti-radiation shelter at Mykolaiv Lyceum №61 — this will be the first school shelter in the Varvarivka microdistrict.
