The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 665 million hryvnias from the reserve fund to purchase fuel for generators to ensure stable operation of the backup power supply in the winter of 2025-2026.

Vitalii Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, said that 17.5 million hryvnias was allocated for the region. These funds will be used to purchase 300 tonnes of fuel, which will provide the necessary reserve in case of outages or emergencies.

The allocation was announced by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko after a meeting with the heads of regional military administrations to discuss the implementation of the government's decision to revise the actual lists of critical infrastructure facilities.

According to Yuliia Svyrydenko, the revision has resulted in the release of at least 800 MW of electricity capacity, which will reduce the duration of blackout schedules for households and industry.

Two categories were removed from the lists during the revision:

  • consumers with a capacity of less than 100 kW;

  • facilities connected to a number of other consumers subject to general restrictions to ensure fair distribution of electricity.

The facilities that are not critical will be transferred to the blackout schedules according to the general procedure.

The Prime Minister reminded that the revision of the lists does not apply to reference hospitals, life support facilities and defence industry enterprises.

As a reminder, the Government of Ukraine has approved a number of decisions aimed at reducing electricity consumption and shortening the duration of hourly power outages for the population.
