Renovation of schools in Mykolaiv region
In November, a temporary school with a shelter and an educational centre for more than three hundred schoolchildren was set up in the village of Olshanske in the Mykolaiv region on the basis of the local community centre.
We also remind you that in the village of Zelenyi Hai of the Shevchenkove community in Mykolaiv region, the design of the reconstruction of the local school is underway. The shelter that survived the air strike will have to be replaced. Funding is provided by the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund together with Taiwan.
It should be noted that an enemy missile hit a school building in Zelenyi Hai on 13 March 2022. After the shelling, only ruins remained on the site of the renovated and well-maintained buildings. Local residents died under the rubble. This is described in the article NikVesti «A mountain of stones instead of a school: how the bombs of the Russian occupiers destroyed the life of the village of Zelenyi Hai in Mykolaiv region».
Subsequently, investigators began to collect evidence of war crimes committed by the Russian military on the territory of the school in the village of Zelenyi Hai. During the inspection, experts found and seized ammunition fragments and other evidence of war crimes.
It was also reported that the village of Zelenyi Hai plans to make the new school energy-independent.
