The «HOPE» project includes four high-rise buildings in Mykolaiv that already have documentation developed for reconstruction

Mykolaiv has received 150 million hryvnias from the World Bank as part of the «HOPE» project to create projects for the reconstruction of 54 high-rise buildings and the surrounding area. This list includes at least four buildings that already have developed design and estimate documentation.

• 556 thousand hryvnias — Yevheniia Lohinova, 12/2 (formerly Krylova Street) in Zavodskyi district;
• 988 thousand hryvnias — 32 Admiralska Street in the Central district;
• 329 thousand hryvnias — 63 Rayduzhna Street in Korabelnyi district;
• 168 thousand hryvnias — 61Vokzalna Street, also in Korabelnyi district.

The Department of Housing and Communal Services of Mykolaiv replied that the houses were selected «without involving the human factor». That is, the decision for which building to develop a reconstruction project within «HOPE» and for which not was made by a computer, not by officials.

In total, about 300 houses were selected in five cities: Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Bucha, Makariv and Izium, and then excluded the smallest ones, forming clusters of 200 buildings, among which Mykolaiv received a list of 54 high-rise buildings.

Mykolaiv's Department of Housing and Communal Services insists that it had no influence on the selection process: «"It was conducted through DREAM, the State Digital Ecosystem for Recovery Management, using transparent criteria and a special geo-tool, the Suitability Tool from City Planning Labs, recommended by the World Bank. This made it possible to provide an objective assessment and form clusters based on location, building condition, security, communications, and other factors».

As you know, Mykolaiv is one of the five communities selected under the grant project «Housing repairs to restore people's rights and opportunities «HOPE», funded by the World Bank.

For Mykolaiv, 54 houses were selected and divided into 21 clusters. 150.3 million hryvnias will be spent on their design.

At the same time, the city council says it is not sure whether all fifty houses will be rebuilt by 2027. At the same time, projects for the reconstruction of high-rise buildings have until April 2026.
