In the village of Kapustyne, which is part of the Mishkovo-Pohorilove community, outdated networks will be overhauled to ensure uninterrupted water supply to the population.

This is evidenced by data from the ProZorro public procurement system, according to NikVesti.

The work will be carried out by the Limited Liability Company, a production and commercial firm «Gasvodomontazh», with which the Mishkovo-Pogoriliv village council has signed five contracts totalling UAH 7.4 million. Each contract does not exceed 1.5 million hryvnias, so according to the law, the use of the Prozorro electronic procurement system is not mandatory in such cases.

According to the YouControl system, the company «Gazvodomontazh» is registered in Mykolaiv and has been operating since 2011. Its founders are Konstantin Perih, Valery Perih and Konstantin Zabara.

The following streets in Kapustyne village are to be overhauled:

  • Dmytro Vyshnevetskyi Street — the cost of works is 1 million 493 thousand 122 hryvnias
  • Ivan Franko Street — the cost of works is 1 million 499 thousand 913 hryvnias
  • Myrna street — from Myrna street to Shevchenko street — the cost of works is 1 million 499 thousand 503 hryvnias
  • Nezalezhniststreet — the cost of works is 1 million 499 thousand 207 hryvnias
  • Tsentralnastreet — the cost of works is 1 million 499 thousand 901 hryvnias

The contractor must replace the old pipes with new polyethylene ones by 30 November. It is also stated that the warranty period for the network is 10 years.

According to Hanna Maksymishyna, head of the Karavelove district of the Mishkovo-Pohorilove village council, who told NikVesti, the water supply system renovation is part of the planned activities planned at the beginning of the year.

«So far, we have prepared the projects, conducted an expert examination, and now we have started work. Pipes are being laid from the well to the tower, and then to each street. As a result, the village will be fully supplied with a new water supply system,» she explained.

According to the head, the network had not been updated since Soviet times, so gusts and accidents occurred regularly.

«The water supply system was in critical condition. Constant gusts, patching did not help. We installed the tower before the war — in 2020-2021, at the expense of the local budget,» added Hanna Maksymishyna.

There are 464 registered residents in Kapustyne, and according to the village head, the village has development prospects due to its proximity to the road.

«The village is promising, it is located near the road and there was a problem with the water supply. This project will help avoid losses of funds for the utility company,» says Hanna Maksymishyna.

It is worth reminding that Mykolaiv has seen a gradual improvement in water quality since the launch of the new water supply system.

However, Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych notes that the city's tap water still does not meet drinking water standards in terms of turbidity and alkalinity, but there is no more salt water in the networks.

Mykolaiv was connected to the new water supply system on 7 October. According to Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, the water supply system is already operating in the system of Mykolaivvodokanal, and filtration has been upgraded at the treatment plant.

Vitalii Kim, the head of Mykolaiv's regional water management authority, also said that Mykolaiv residents can expect clean water to be available in their taps around the end of 2025 or early next year.

In addition, by the end of the year, Mykolaiv plans to build additional treatment facilities that should significantly improve water quality. Their funding is provided from the state budget.
