Five modular offices for foresters to be installed in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions at a cost of ₴5.7 million

Four modular offices for foresters will be installed in different districts of Mykolaiv region.

This is evidenced by the data of the ProZorro public procurement system, according to NikVesti.

The branch «Southern Forest Office» of the enterprise «Forests of Ukraine» plans to purchase five modular buildings worth 5 million 798 thousand 541 hryvnias. Four of them will be installed in Mykolaiv region and one in Odesa region.

Each office is a modular building made of materials resistant to rot, pests and moisture. The frame and supporting elements must be treated with fire and bio-protection and have insulation. The premises are equipped with vapour and waterproofing layers, insulated floors, OSB boards, linoleum and chipboard.

Each office will have a basic set of furniture: cabinets, tables, armchairs and a two-seater sofa, as well as an electrical network, lighting, LED lighting and air conditioning that works in cooling, heating and ventilation modes.

Installation includes site preparation, installation of the foundation made of galvanised geo-screws, delivery, assembly, connection to networks, and final works.

The Southern Forestry Office told NikVesti that these modular buildings will be used as offices for foresters and their assistants. The agency explained that the purchase is aimed at reducing the cost of maintaining old buildings and at the same time creating comfortable conditions for employees.

«These modular houses will be installed in forestry. Why are we doing this? Because the two-storey buildings that are currently in the forestries make no sense. It is more expensive to maintain them than to buy modular houses for our foresters. It will be more cost-effective», the press service said.

The agency also noted that this is the first time such a purchase has been made.

«This is the first time our branch has made such a purchase. We need to make it more economical and develop our forestry more. Therefore, we decided to purchase modular houses for foresters and their assistants to do their paperwork there», the Southern Forestry Office added.

As a reminder, as of September, 19 recreational centres «Foresters» were opened in Mykolaiv region. After two of them were installed in the suburbs of Mykolaiv, the number of fires decreased.

In addition, in August, a branch of the Southern Forest Office of the state enterprise «Forests of Ukraine» signed contracts for the construction of three recreational campsites in Mykolaiv region. Their cost was 6.2 million hryvnias.

Since the beginning of the year, 4,070 fires have occurred in Mykolaiv region, most of them in open areas. Rescuers say this is 50% more than last year. Rescuers extinguish about 40 fires in open areas every day.

The State Ecological Inspectorate of the South-Western Region has calculated that the damage caused by the fires to the environment of Mykolaiv region during the «fire-hazardous period» since April 2025 is 1.36 billion hryvnias.
