«We are adding a paragraph on ensuring the proper functioning of general secondary education institutions, including special and preschool departments. Now we are also adding specialised sports classes, which is stipulated by the constituent documents of the institutions and agreed with the Department of Education,» said Hanna Lychko.
In general, more than 5.17 billion hryvnias is planned to ensure the proper functioning of general secondary education institutions, including sports classes, in 2025-2027.
Of this amount:
-
1.72 billion hryvnias from the local budget,
-
212.7 million hryvnias from the state budget,
-
over 3.2 billion hryvnias — from the educational subvention,
-
18.4 million hryvnias — from the special fund (own revenues).
The largest funding is envisaged for 2027 — over 2 billion hryvnias.
According to Hanna Lychko, head of the city's education department, sports classes are being introduced at the initiative of the Ministry of Sport. Students attend classes according to the regular school curriculum in the morning and train in their chosen sport in the afternoon.
Currently, there are four such classes in Mykolaiv: one in school №36 (3rd grade) and three in gymnasium №47 (6th-8th grades).
We would like to remind you that during inspections of canteens in Mykolaiv schools, violations in the organisation of children's meals were found: no running hot water, broken dishes and problems with food storage.
According to the Office of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights in Mykolaiv region, after parents' complaints, the ombudsmen sent a request to the city education department.
They replied that the mayor had set up a special commission, which included representatives of the authorities, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, deputies and the parental community. From 16 to 24 September, they inspected 13 schools and found a number of problems.
