Dmytro Teslenko, Director of Municipal Enterprise «Mykolaivpastrans», responded to the comments of citizens regarding the behaviour of city bus drivers.
During the live broadcast, he said that the company does receive complaints, but each situation is considered individually. At the same time, the official called on Mykolaiv residents to treat bus drivers with respect and patience.
«Yes, we receive complaints from our citizens about their behaviour, answers to some questions, reactions from our drivers. We look into each case individually. But to summarise, I would like to ask myself and appeal to our citizens: our drivers did not come from Mars. They are not robots developed by Elon Musk. They are the same city residents, the same citizens as you. Drivers, like other professions, are a cross-section of our society, our mentality, our way of communicating. Please remember that the drivers of our public transport, our buses, work for you. They are not service personnel. Yes, they provide services, but first and foremost they are people. And I ask you to treat them with respect. Do you understand, in general, the number of passengers a driver carries per day, with whom he communicates, answers the same questions, the same answers. People are different,» he said.
At the same time, Dmytro Teslenko said that the administration of the ME responds to all appeals and, if violations are confirmed, applies disciplinary measures to drivers.
«In each case of your complaint, we look into it individually, and if our driver is really wrong, we bring them to disciplinary responsibility, even to dismissal. But, please, I emphasise, they are also people, they are citizens, they have their rights, yes, they have responsibilities, they provide you with services, but please treat them with respect and gratitude,» the director of the utility company said at .
Earlier, Dmytro Teslenko said that the municipal enterprise «Mykolaivpastrans» managed to overcome the shortage of drivers on its routes over the year, which allowed it to significantly increase the number of buses on city routes.
