The Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Mykolaiv City Council plans to purchase 310 tree seedlings for 1 million hryvnias.
This is according to the ProZorro public procurement system, according to NikVesti.
The procurement involves the supply of 310 large-sized seedlings with a lump of earth: 160 Acer platanoides Globosum maples with a spherical crown and 150 Crimean pines (Pinus pallasiana).
Maples will have a height of at least 2 metres and a trunk diameter of at least 5 centimetres, pines — a height of at least 1.2 metres and a trunk diameter of at least 6 centimetres. All trees must be healthy, without damage and with a well-developed root system. Saplings should be at least 4 years old.
Each tree will be supplied with certificates confirming its grade and marketability, as well as a set of stakes for fixing after planting. The delivery is scheduled for the period from 15 October to 10 November 2025.
It is also noted that the supplier provides a 12-month warranty for the seedlings. The seedlings will be accepted by a commission consisting of representatives of the customer, the supplier and the company that will plant the trees in the city.
In a commentary to NikVesti, Dmytro Chuchmai, director of the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks», said that trees would be planted in different locations around the city. He also noted that the company does not plan to buy trees this year due to lack of funding.
«We have plans, but we don't have the funding (to buy saplings) yet. So far, we are only buying what the Department of Housing and Communal Services buys at», said Dmytro Chuchmai.
Earlier, during a live broadcast on Instagram, Dmytro Chuchmai announced the purchase of saplings.
As a reminder, in the spring of 2025, not a single tree was planted in Mykolaiv by the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks». However, in April, the city held a campaign «Tree is the life of the community», during which the citizens planted 38 trees.
In October 2023, young pine saplings were planted in the park-monument of landscape art «Victory Park». In March 2024, Mykolaiv residents noticed that some of the trees had turned yellow and died.
The «Mykolaiv parks» then replied that the trees were planted with an open root system without an earthen lump, which is why they died.
