The roof of an apartment building at 1 Obraztsova Street, which was damaged by Russian shelling on the night of 25 May, will be restored in Mykolaiv. It will cost 2.4 million hryvnias.

This is according to the Prozorro electronic procurement system, according to NikVesti.

The building was previously inspected by the commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergencies of the city council and decided «to immediately repair» the roof. The customer for the work is the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the City Council.

«The roof was destroyed by shelling and fire. In the event of adverse weather conditions, water will leak into the living quarters, which can lead to a short circuit in the electrical wiring, destruction of the building's interior, damage to the property of residents and the inability to stay in the apartments», the tender documentation states.

The roof must be repaired within four months — by 31 October 2025.

Strike on Mykolaiv on 25 May

On the night of 25 May 2025, the Russian army launched dozens of Shahed drones at Mykolaiv. The first shelling in the city was heard around 00:50. City officials reported that the city was under attack by kamikaze drones.

Authorities also reported that the night attack on Mykolaiv damaged infrastructure, office buildings and private homes. Power lines were damaged in different parts of the city. Two floors of an apartment building were destroyed, and the debris hit a nearby multi-storey building.

Law enforcers have already opened criminal proceedings over the night shelling of Mykolaiv on the grounds of war crimes (Article 438(2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, noted that the 25 May attack on Mykolaiv was the most massive in recent years.
