Revenues almost doubled: last year Mykolaiv region earned ₴1.5 million from tourists

The Tylihul estuary. Photo: NikVestiIn 2024, the communities of Mykolaiv Oblast received more than 1.5 million hryvnias in tourist tax, which is almost twice as much as in 2023.
Such data was provided by the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration in response to an information request NikVesti.
It is noted that the number of tourists has also increased. In 2023, the region was visited by 80-100 thousand people, and in 2024 — up to 120 thousand. Revenues from the tourist tax in Mykolaiv region in 2023 amounted to 897.3 thousand hryvnias, and in 2024 — 1 million 536 thousand hryvnias.
«This indicates positive dynamics in the field of tourist activity in the region and the growing role of the tourist tax as a source of filling local budgets», according to the regional administration.
As a reminder, the tourist tax is a local tax paid by tourists for temporary accommodation.
