A complete energy modernisation of a high-rise building in Mykolaiv costs about 13 million hryvnias.
This is described in the article NikVesti «Solar roofs of Mykolaiv: how residents of high-rise buildings unite and choose energy security and savings».
According to experts from the Housing Development Centre, the scope of work includes the installation of an individual heating point (IHP), repair and balancing of the heating system, replacement of windows and doors, insulation of facades, basements, attics, roofs and foundations to a freezing depth of 70 cm. Additionally, a solar power plant is to be installed to partially cover the building's electricity needs.
«After the installation of the IHP, they start replacing pipes and levelling the heating system to avoid a situation where some apartments are warm and others are cold. Then they insulate the facades, which saves up to 70%. There are examples where a three-room apartment pays 650 hryvnias for heating for the whole season, while in ordinary houses it is 2300-4000 hryvnias. The difference is significant,» says Yurii Husakov, an expert at the Housing Development Centre.
The overall process of energy modernisation takes about four years. Thanks to state and local programmes, condominiums pay only about 1.8 million hryvnias, and can also use a loan from the decarbonisation fund to cover part of the cost.
Over the past year, 16 solar power plants (SPPs) have been installed on the roofs of 20 condominiums in Mykolaiv, with two at the installation stage and two more looking for a contractor.
