Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that the goal of the talks with Ukraine in Istanbul is not a compromise, but «a quick and complete victory for Russia».

He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

Dmitrii Medvedev noted that the talks are not aimed at «a fictitious compromise peace», but are intended to ensure the realisation of Russia's interests.

«The talks in Istanbul are not for a compromise peace on unrealistic terms invented by someone, but for our speedy victory and the complete destruction of the neo-Nazi government. This is the meaning of the Russian memorandum that was published yesterday», he said.

This statement was made against the backdrop of comments made by Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umierov, who confirmed the receipt of a document with proposals from the Russian side during the second round of talks in Istanbul.
