On Thursday, 29 May, two adult residents from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region were returned to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine. Both are orphans and children deprived of parental care.
This was announced by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
According to him, both boys went through serious trials. One of the boys found ammunition in the woods, after which he was beaten by Russian soldiers and abducted during a school lesson. A week before he reached the age of majority, he received a draft notice to the Russian army.
«Fortunately, these Ukrainians are no longer in danger. They are safe and receive the necessary assistance», added Alexander Prokudin.
The rescue operation was made possible thanks to the efforts of Save Ukraine as part of the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy «Bring Kids Back UA».
As a reminder, 11 more children have been returned to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine from the temporarily occupied territories as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
