Odesa region among the leaders of the spring sowing campaign

Land cultivation in Mykolaiv region, photo: «_nikvesti»As of the beginning of May, farmers in Odesa region sowed 92.3 thousand hectares of spring grains and pulses. This is one of the highest figures among the regions of Ukraine.
This was announced by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
Most of the area is allocated to:
- peas — 51.9 thousand hectares;
- barley — 30.1 thousand hectares;
- wheat — 5.8 thousand hectares;
- oats — 1.3 thousand hectares.
In addition, sunflower sowing has already started in the region, which is in line with the sowing campaign across the country.
Since the beginning of 2025, agricultural producers in Odesa region have benefited from the state lending programme worth over 1.16 billion hryvnias. Loans were granted to 210 agricultural enterprises in the region.
