The number of casualties increased to 119 in Sumy

As of the morning of 14 April, the number of people injured in a missile attack on Sumy by the Russian army on 13 April has risen to 119.

This was announced during a telethon by the spokesman for the State Emergency Service in Sumy region, Oleh Strilka.

According to him, emergency and restoration work is underway in the city. Currently, 34 people have been reported dead, including 2 children. 119 people were injured, including 15 children.

Strike on Sumy on 13 April: what is known?

On the morning of 13 April, Russia launched a missile attack on Sumy. At 10:52 a.m., acting mayor Artem Kobzar said that the attack had resulted in many deaths.

For his part, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy immediately reacted to the Russian ballistic missile strike on Sumy.

Later, the press service of the Sumy City Council reported that Russia had attacked the city's civilian infrastructure.

As of 14:10, it was reported that 32 people had been killed, including two children. Later, the city council announced that 14, 15 and 16 April were declared Days of Mourning for those killed in the Russian missile strike.

As you know, the mayor of Konotop, Artem Semenikhin, accused the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artyukh, of responsibility for the Russian strike on Sumy, which killed civilians, including children.

In a video message published on 13 April, Semenikhin expressed outrage at the actions of the regional leadership and said he demanded a public apology from Artyukh and called on him to resign. The mayor also appealed to the head of the SSU in Sumy region, Oleh Krasnoshapka, demanding his resignation.

A total of 48 buildings were damaged as a result of Russia's massive missile attack on Sumy, including 28 apartment buildings, two private houses and 18 non-residential buildings.

US President Donald Trump said that the strike by Russian troops on the city of Sumy, which killed at least 34 people, could have been a «mistake». He said this during a conversation with journalists.
