In the Kherson region, in the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka, Beryslav district, the reconstruction of a kindergarten destroyed by Russian troops is nearing completion.
This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, who visited Velyka Oleksandrivka.
The reconstruction of the kindergarten began more than a year ago and is now at its final stage. The cost of the work was more than 38 million hryvnias from the state and local budgets.
The kindergarten was built in 1969. It is designed for 114 children. In 2017, the facility underwent major repairs. However, in 2022, the building of the kindergarten was heavily damaged by the hostilities as a result of the invasion of Russian invaders. The roof was damaged, 78 windows out of 86 were broken, and almost all the doors — both entrance and interior — were smashed. The facade and walls were also damaged. Inventory and office equipment were partially stolen and partially damaged.
The military administration notes that after the opening of the repaired institution, it will be able to accommodate 120 children at a time.
«Parents have already enrolled the first hundred children. This shows that local families want to stay at home, work, raise children and live a normal life,» the statement said.
The roof was completely re-roofed and insulated, windows and doors were replaced, communications were updated, a ramp, water tank, ventilation and air conditioning were installed. Inside, finishing works have already been completed and the floor has been insulated. A landscaping project will also be implemented.
In addition, a shelter is being built next to the kindergarten, which will be used by its pupils during the threat of Russian attacks.
Earlier it was reported that almost 209.9 million hryvnias will be spent in the Kherson region to reconstruct the hub school in the village of Arkhanhelske, which was damaged as a result of hostilities.
