President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects that the issue of territories will be raised during negotiations with Russia, but Ukraine will not recognise the occupied lands as Russian.

He said this at a joint press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb in Helsinki.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the first step is still an unconditional ceasefire. According to him, it is first silence in the sky, silence at sea, «but it will still reach silence on the entire front», he added.

«And then we will move on to other issues, among which I am sure territorial issues will be raised», Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

However, he stressed that Ukraine does not recognise the temporarily occupied territories as Russian.

«For us, the red line is the recognition of the Ukrainian temporarily occupied territories as Russian. We will not go for it», the president said.

As a reminder, negotiations on the proposed 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, 23 March.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Kyiv would not agree to any Russian ultimatums.
