Zelenskyy: All opportunities exist to end the war in 2025

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that there is every opportunity to end the war in 2025, and US President Donald Trump also wants this.

He said this in an interview with the British broadcaster ITV News.

«We want it very much. And every year, to be honest, we have been wishing that our Western partners would have the strength to force Putin to end the war. I believe that today there is every opportunity for this. In my opinion, this is what Trump wants — a quick end to the war. Whether it's quick or not, we don't know how it will turn out, but we know that we need to be strong. He is strong, but in an alliance with the Europeans, we must act decisively,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

In particular, he pointed to the incomplete introduction of sanctions against Russia, which gave it the opportunity to adapt to the restrictions imposed.

The President noted that he would be ready for any format of peace talks if he had «an understanding that America and Europe would not abandon us, would support us and provide security guarantees».

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he would not want the front line to freeze at its current positions. In addition, he stressed that it is important to understand what kind of security guarantees will be provided to Ukraine.

He added that Ukrainians do not look at any proposed plan from the perspective of benefits for any continent, but through the prism of whether it coincides with «the opportunity for Ukrainians to survive», whether «this plan is alive» or is only possible on paper.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed his belief that US leader Donald Trump currently has no «official plan» to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.

At the same time, the United States is already negotiating a full-scale war with Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was ready to sit down with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin for peace, despite his hostile attitude.

However, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he was ready to «allocate people» to negotiate with Ukraine to end the war and called any such talks «illegitimate».

US President Donald Trump is ready to significantly increase sanctions against Russia, even doubling them, to force Moscow to end its war against Ukraine.
