Mykolaiv City Emergency Hospital has received a microscope for neurosurgery.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Health Department.

The operating microscope manufactured by the German company Carl Zeiss Meditec AG and purchased by the state has already been delivered to the hospital and put into operation.

The microscope is equipped with modules for connecting to navigation systems and data transmission, as well as fluorescent modules for improved visualisation of tumours, blood vessels and healthy tissue. The optics will help doctors perform the most complex manipulations on brain tissue, blood vessels and the spinal cord.

«In particular, it helps to remove brain tumours, treat aneurysms and vascular pathologies, perform spinal surgery, as well as reconstructive interventions, etc.», the statement said.
