In Kyiv, the digitization of the entire database of documents from the archive of the Bureau of Technical Inventory (BTI) has been completed, which will make this data mobile and protect it from raider attacks.

This was reported on the official portal of the Kyiv City State Administration.

Andrii Hudz, Director of the Department of Communal Property of the City of Kyiv, noted that thanks to digitization, it was possible to restore and preserve documents that were in critical condition.

«Digitizing documents is an important step in preserving the archive, an opportunity to make it mobile and invulnerable. It is important that we managed to save and restore those documents that were in extremely poor condition. From now on, the threat of their loss has passed, and they will be available as long as necessary. In addition, according to the experience of 2022, it is the digitization of archives that is a guarantee against loss due to military actions. Then, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Mariupol, Gostomel lost a large number of archival documents that cannot be restored as a result of Russian aggression. That is, now it will be just as difficult for structures or citizens to restore their buildings if documentation has been lost on them,» noted Andrii Hudz.

Thanks to this, the archives are now protected from destruction due to hostilities and fraudulent schemes when forged documents are used to steal real estate.

«Preserving documentation on real estate in Kyiv is a priority. The originals of these documents exist in only one copy, so their digitization is a guarantee of their safety and prevention of losses,» Andrii Hudz emphasized.

As a reminder, on the night of December 20, the Russians carried out the most massive cyberattack ever, targeting Ukraine's state registries. The attack was carried out by the Russians to disrupt the operation of critical infrastructure.

It is noted that the state is actively working to restore the systems. Enhanced cyber protection measures are being implemented to prevent the recurrence of incidents. It is estimated that the registers will be fully operational in two weeks.
