Three families from Mykolaiv region complained about bullying in schools after the launch of a special platform

At the end of October, a platform for anonymous complaints about bullying was launched in Ukraine. In two months of operation, 85 complaints were received. Three of the complaints were from families from the Mykolaiv region.

According to Opendatabot, complaints came from 16 regions of Ukraine, the most active from Kyiv and the region — 36, Odessa region — 9, and Lviv region — 8. It should be noted that 80% of complaints were from parents, and 20% from children.

In just 10 months of 2024, the police recorded 219 cases of bullying in schools. Half of this year's protocols concern adolescents aged 14-16 — 124 cases. In 80% of them, the courts have already issued decisions. It is worth noting that such violations have increased significantly over the past two years. Thus, in 2021, protocols on adolescents reached 45% of cases.

According to the Ukrainian Institute for the Study of Extremism, bullying causes 40% of child suicides.

We will remind you that fines for bullying in schools range from 850 to 3,400 hryvnias, but experts suggest increasing this amount to 10,000 hryvnias. Persons over the age of 16 are responsible for bullying, and in the case of younger offenders, their parents.

School leaders who conceal facts of bullying can be fined or even subjected to corrective labor with deduction of part of their salary. This year, 12 reports were drawn up against educators who hid facts of bullying.

Let us remind you that in Pervomaisk, parents of schoolchildren are concerned about bullying of children from the families of the fallen Defenders of Ukraine.
