The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim explained why the security situation in the region has improved significantly compared to 2022. According to him, the key factor was the movement of troops from cities to more distant positions.

As he reported during the telethon, this reduced the number of victims and victims of shelling.

«The security situation in the region is consistently dangerous, but considering how it was in 2022, it is much better compared to previous periods. [..] From the end of 2022, during 2023, many military personnel were moved from large and small cities, conditionally, to the fields, so the situation improved. If in 2022 we had 1,500 wounded and 500 killed, then last year 5 people died from shelling and significantly fewer wounded. So I compare it, unfortunately, in victims. And I say that the situation is better now,» Vitalii Kim explained.

We will remind, in the Mykolaiv region, the air defense forces destroyed 7 Russian drones over the past day.

In addition, on the night of September 16, the Russian occupying forces launched Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs over the territory of Ukraine. One of them was destroyed by air defense in the Mykolayiv region.

Also, on the night of Sunday, September 15, air defense destroyed three Russian unmanned aerial vehicles of the Shahed 131/136 type over the Mykolaiv region.
