The destroyed part of the Mykolaiv Hotel building in the city centre is planned to be demolished with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

This was announced by Ihor Nabatov, First Deputy Director of the City Council's Department of Housing and Communal Services, at a briefing on 23 January, according to NikVesti.

«The Mykolaiv Hotel is also included in the projects planned for implementation under the new UNDP tender. This will involve the partial demolition of the damaged part of the building. The same applies to the residential building at 1 Obraztsova Street. Again, we are talking about partial demolition,» said Ihor Nabatov.

As a reminder, Russian troops hit the Mykolaiv Hotel building with a missile on the morning of 14 July 2022. NikVesti was at the scene and recorded the aftermath of the missile strike.

In total, during three years of full-scale invasion (from February 2022 to March 2025), Russian troops carried out at least 31 air strikes on hotels in various Ukrainian cities. The map also shows hotels in Mykolaiv.
